Individual & Family Counseling
Counseling, also known as therapy or psychotherapy, is a collaborative effort between a behavioral health professional and a client to help identify goals and find solutions to problems that cause emotional distress. Behavioral health professionals are licensed by individual states to provide such services and can be Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), or Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) among others. Lisa M. Lewis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor. Services are available for individuals, families, couples, or groups and are covered by most insurance plans if they are deemed medically-necessary; LCSWs and other professional counselors do not prescribe medications but can help you find a prescriber [Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Psychiatrist (MD)].
